Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information TheWoodshopGuide ("we", "us") collects when you visit thewoodshopguide.com, how we use it and the choices you have. We keep data collection to a minimum: there are no user accounts on this site and we do not sell personal information.
Information we collect
- Messages you send us. If you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address, the topic you choose and your message. The form is processed by our hosting provider, Netlify.
- Server logs. Like most websites, our host automatically records technical data such as your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time of the request. These logs are used for security and to keep the site running.
- Browser storage. The site stores a single value in your browser's session storage to remember that you have already seen our "free plans" popup, so it is not shown again during the same visit. It is deleted when you close the tab.
Third-party services
Some features rely on other companies. Each one handles data under its own privacy policy.
- ClickBank (affiliate links and checkout). When you click a "Get Instant Access" button you leave our site. ClickBank may set cookies to record that you came from our link, so we can be credited if you buy. Orders, payments and refunds are handled entirely by ClickBank; we never see your payment details.
- Wistia and Vimeo (videos). Videos load only after you press play. At that point the video provider may collect data such as your IP address and set cookies.
- Google Fonts. Your browser downloads the site's fonts from Google's servers, which receive your IP address in the process.
- Netlify (hosting and forms). Netlify stores the site, its server logs and contact form submissions.
Advertising and measurement
We promote this site with Google Ads. This page does not currently load analytics or advertising scripts. If we add Google Ads conversion tracking or an analytics tool, we will update this policy first. Google may then use cookies to measure ad performance. You can manage personalized ads at adssettings.google.com.
How we use information
- To reply to your messages.
- To operate, secure and improve the site.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
How long we keep it
Contact messages are kept for up to 24 months, then deleted. Server logs are kept according to Netlify's standard retention.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example California and other US states, the European Union or the United Kingdom), you may have the right to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to object to how it is used. To make a request, email contact@thewoodshopguide.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law and will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.
Children
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page shows when it last changed.
